About Us
- Formed in 1972 by a small group of spaniel enthusiasts based around the borders of Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire, the Club is proud to be one of the oldest in the UK.
- As relevant today as much as it was when first founded, the Clubs aim is to provide an open, friendly forum where spaniel owners of all abilities can meet on a regular basis throughout the closed season to seek help and discuss and exchange views on the training and handling of working spaniels.
- A series of “Meets” are held, generally on private ground and handlers are given the opportunity to run their dogs under the guidance of an experienced person who can offer help and advice if appropriate.
- Handlers are encouraged to aspire to train dogs to Field Trial and Working Test standards and with consistency and practice, most are pleasantly rewarded with a well behaved dog, suitable for a day in the shooting field.
- Some of our members have gone on to compete in Field Trials with considerable success, winning places in Cocker and English Springer Spaniel Championship stakes and even representing England on several occasions.
